Research and Innovation Department
Introduction
The Research and Innovation Department in ELTC is dedicated to enhance ELT practices amongst teachers through research studies. In order to develop the culture of research amongst teachers the department offers Action Research for primary and secondary ELT teachers. In addition to this the department conducts school based research that aims to provide findings that can inform the progress and effectiveness of programs run by the Ministry of Education. To this aim, the department has conducted a number of research studies in areas of KSSR, SBA and ELT Performance in schools. The department hopes to be able to impact teaching practices through providing credible and quality data in the area of ELT.

ACADEMIC PAPER CONSULTATION SERVICE
(ACAPCS)

Welcome
Academic Paper Consultation Service (ACAPCS) is a center specially designed to meet the needs of ELTC staff as well as the ESL teachers in working on their academic papers. It offers flexible modes of consultation that are most useful to writers in seeking an ongoing support or consultation in order to improve their academic piece. Our sessions focus on principles of composition and strategies to enable writers to independently improve their writings rather than “correcting” them. ACAPCS welcomes ELTC Staff and ESL teachers to drop by at the Centre or to give us a call to find out how we can help you.

Mission
ACAPCS is dedicated to providing FREE accessible services that help ELTC Academic and Non-Academic Staff to achieve their personal, academic, and professional goals in academic writing in a confidential and caring environment.

The Support
ACAPCS provides support to writers who are working on their:
- Thesis/Dissertation Proposals
- Graduate Coursework (e.g.: lit reviews, seminar papers)
- Conference Abstracts
- Research Article Manuscripts
Our consultants/advisors will assist writers through collaborative discussions to generate productive writing habits to improve the writing and critical thinking abilities among writers.
